Drill pipe is a steel pipe with spiral threads at the tail end, used to connect the surface equipment of the drilling rig with the drilling and grinding equipment or bottom hole device located at the bottom of the drilling rig. The purpose of drill pipe is to transport drilling mud to the drill bit and raise, lower or rotate the bottom hole device together with the drill bit. Drill pipes must be able to withstand enormous internal and external pressure, twisting, bending, and vibration. In the process of oil and gas extraction and refining, drill pipes can be used multiple times.
After multiple processing steps, the light pipe and the original steel pipe are made into drill rods. Firstly, through the process of thickening the steel pipe, the outer surface of the light pipe is bent inward, and the wall of the steel pipe is thickened. Next, perform threading and coat with copper that can increase strength. Then non-destructive quality control inspection is carried out, followed by welding of the steel pipe body joints. Subsequently, the tube will undergo welding heat treatment and final welding treatment to eliminate residual welding pressure. Before painting and packaging the finished drill pipe, other tests should be conducted on the steel pipe product, including hardness testing, pressure testing, and non-destructive testing.
